Glamping & Ynys Môn
A little treat for P&C - out to Llŷn for a glamping night in the forrest. Decided to book a hut for the night just outside Criccieth. Should be a bit of fun. T decided to give this one a miss but will be riding out on day 1. 🛖🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️
Can't think of anything more exciting than sleeping in the forrest in a gorgeous hut. We should have peace and quiet other than the animals around us - must remember the jungle juice though as we'll probably get eaten alive by the midges 🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🌭🍳🍾🍺

Well a close call!!!! Completely forgot we had agreed to have the Grrrrrrrandsprog this weekend and so came to the conclusion that we needed to cancel the trip, or to go in the car and take Geth with us. He can sleep in the bed with us, which is the choice that we landed on and am sure the Grrrrrrrandsprog would love it - anyway crisis averted as Geth isn't coming now so back to plan A 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

Here we go - Day 1
A really lovely ride out across the Denbigh Moors, through Betws and on to Beddgelert where we stopped for a very much needed loo break and tea! Usual parking place in the front of the café, enough to just get in the way of people walking past - especially if they had prams or buggies
The skies looked ominous and for the 1st time in about 3-4 weeks, rain threatened. I know it is most welcome as most of North Wales is on fire, but seriously, when we're out for a ride!!!! Well it started raining and actually was very pleasant riding in the wet stuff! Got to Criccieth and stopped for a very welcome beer - I think this might have been our 2nd actually as we stopped in Aberdaron and had a beer at the normal stop!
Toby peeled off to head home and P&C picked up a light snack for tea and for tomorrow's breakfast. We found a butchers and a deli and spent a small fortune! I think we might have over done it.....Tea was; pork steak on the BBQ, gravlax smoked salmon, salami, chorizo, blue cheese, welsh cheddar, bread, olives, salad (greek and home made) potato salad, coleslaw, pepper, chilli, oh and an enormous scotch egg, oh and a large bag of peeking duck crisps. Bottle of prosecco, bottle of pink and 4 beers............
So that stuffed us!!! Now on the hut - BRILLIANT.... cozy, in the middle of absolutely nowhere, down a slate track that no cars are allowed, but bikes are, so we managed to navigate carefully to the hut. Very sparse, 2 lights, 1 (very comfy) bed and a couple of chairs. BBQ, cooking utensils, a kettle and an outside toilet! Oh yes what a treat. We had a wonderful time, listening to music (quietly as it's not allowed) 
Yes, that's the toilet in the background behind Bagger Manhattan. It's a natural bio-degradable bog!!!!!!!!!
And this is PC's kitchen. Small but functional.
We're still up and it 20:34 - just watched Top Bum 1 but not going for #2 as we won't get through it. We did stay up and as it was a bit chilly, Mrs C put on P's joggers and started dancing - it was such a lovely night - very stupid, very childish, but just how we like it!
The rain has arrived and all night it absolutely chucked it down! Anybody that has spent time in a caravan or tent would appreciate how comforting the rain is thrashing on the roof. We loved it! Bed 9:40 and woke at 7:50.... that's do nicely thank you very much.
So it's breaky time after a wonderful night's sleep. Bacon, eggs, sausages, tomatoes, mushrooms all done in one frying pan. A bit challenging but all good and ready for the day ahead. Coffee is missing unfortunately but water will do until we ride out and find a café.
Washed up, tidied up, pooped in the bio toilet, showered and ready to go by 9:30. Navigated down the slate track and on to ride around Ynys Môn.1st stop was a fantastic little café just outside ......................
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. It's called the Heritage Cafe and it's only small, but so friendly, great cakes, got chatting to the regulars there; one couple in particular who must have been in their 80's but had toured many routes we have done. They did it on their original Honda Goldwing - in the 60's; cool couple!!!!! It was a lovely 45 minutes spent having tea, coffee and cake.
Then to South Stack from the south west, over to Moelfre and a pint in the Kinmel Arms. I used my best Welsh - "Dau beint o Madri, os gwelwch yn dda" Not sure what was said back, but it was great to try, but i think it was anything else, so i just added dim diolch.
Got chatting to a couple traveling around in their camper van, staying in the carpark at the back of the pub - they were Wazzers' from Latchford and knew where PC was brought up - Ackers Road; apparently this chap used to fish in Ackers Pit which was just over the road from PC's childhood home - back to Strath through the Ogwen Valley. A familiar route, but enjoyable every time. This time, we had no cars in front of us all the way home. It was incredible! What a great weekend!
Summary.....Bloomin' lovely weekend; riding traffic free free roads, eating, stop-over at fab place, weather unpredictable but turned out just perfect thanks!!!!! Decided we'll do more many more of these last minute breaks - not knowing what it's like, where we're going, how it will be, what the weather will be like, how many clothes we're taking, what the traffic will be like, what the food will be like; Isn't that the fun of it - it's another weekend that we can look back on, remember, reflect and have not missed out on - even though it was a bit wet?
