World's End

Rode out to Llangollen via World's End. Haven't ridden this road for some time, in fact unsure if the Bagger Manhattan has been over it so that must be nearly 4 years now. Still the same, roads horrible with rubble in the middle but the views are fantastic and well worth a trip over.

After Word's End, from Llangollen, we rode up and over the Horseshoe Pass, past the derelict Ponderosa café and across to Bala. Nothing on the roads, sun shining bike being really responsive [that sounds daft, but sometimes the bike is more perfect than other and this was one of them]

We stopped for coffee at Plas Yn Dre Ty Coffi in Bala; changed our mind against just a pot of tea, so had tea and the world's largest and most fresh ham salad bap!! Got to go back, it was excellent....

We then togged and off to ride the recently opened Ffestiniog road. Just have to say that if you read an earlier blog from this year it was noted the reservoirs were so high and we'd never seen them so high, well let me say what a difference 6 months make - we could see the bedrock of Afon Tryweryn!!! OMG they're empty!!!! We didn't get any photos as we were enjoying the ride too much, but must go again before the end of summer and take some shots - Bank Holiday Monday next weekend, so may be then.

One of our favourite roads is turning left from the A4212, onto the B4391 toward Ffestiniog. It's been closed all year, but this weekend it is open, so it's a must to give it a go. There's a view point called Cwm Cynfal and this is where many years ago we learned of Grrrrandsprog coming along [sure I recall Danielle sitting backwards on the motorbike to denote she couldn't sit forward facing due to the impending bump] and we have stopped at this viewpoint on many many occasions. You can see the sea over toward Harlech and you can see the Snowdonia mountain range and it is just a wonderful viewpoint. Dani and Steff scratched the date into the stone shown below several years ago now - it's gone unfortunately, but not the memory.

There is a fantastic view of the Stwlan Dam - can't ride there unfortunately, but you can go to the Lakeside Café, which I think we will navigate to next weekend - not been there before but it has been recommended to us, so we'll give it a go! So set off toward Betws-y-coed, via the Crimea Pass. Took the back street into Betws, through the centre turning right, over the stupid little bridge full of pedestrians getting in the way, toward Llanrwst. Followed a very quick BMW who carved the way for us... Then the A548 out of the town and up toward the Caffi Glan yr Afon for a little can of lemon; this is a really great road, but a lot longer than we think. Every time we ride it, I think have we gone too far" Anyway, as it was a very hot day and we hadn't stopped much the can of lemon and a few minute break was most welcome.
